Gates Cove

Many Thanks

21/5/2011

Hi Guys,
Just to let you know there will not be another Beta, I believe that Gates Cove is up to the standard of a upload to MTS. All the issues that I am aware of have been fixed as well as some minor sim tweaking.

I am so proud of where this creation has lead me, this was my first piece of Custom Content for the sims. It may be one of the largest projects you can do, but overall I am incredibly proud. After months of all my sims time being taken up with bug fixes or forum posting, I believe that I have actually sat down and played in Gates Cove and I am so happy for what I have achieved.

Through Gates Cove, I have come to love all of Gates Cove, I know every inch of every lot, road and sim in the town.

I would love to thank everyone in the community it has been a pleasure to have such a great community to work with.

I would love to thank everyone who has had any working with this project, weither it be Armiel, putting up with my many hours of me not reading the guidelines and provide feedback/encouragement, or EsmereldaF for helping me to fix up the sims, NickiMicki for actually giving feedback. Then I would love to thank all the custom content creators, for allowing me to use all there wondrous custom content.

Don't think this is my going away, just more of a celebration, I have many more creations to come and some which I have started to work on now

Release Date

22/4/2011

Gates Cove has  been worked on since December of 2009 and has a final release date. This is June 8th, The reason is it is one week after the release of Generations and there will be testing with Generations and to make sure that it is the optimum experience for the end user. That gives me the months of May to be preparing to be released, while this date may be sooner, I expect it not. The MTS review process in pervious cituation took 8 days, adn I think it might take this lo

Gates Cove Editing

24/2/2011

I have had a brief break, so I have do I have done some major workings and I am almost ready to go into Beta Final, the pre-release version, one before the MTS release.

I have been busy for the last couple of weeks and have done some playing and have some suggestions in creator feedback which I am working on. One question which happens a few times is the long term of the families and how Gates Cove keeps going. For playing it has been successful, I have done four generations without hiccups.

I have been busy but I have almost finished Gates Cove, I am redoing some family's and adding an improved Save Game experience. It is found here at Creator Forum

I believe I have finished Gates Cove fixes from the previous thread and Gates Cove is going to go into Beta testing mode and reviewal, I will link to it in Creator Feedback later.

Hi, Gates Cove has been worked on for over a year now and it is getting closer and closer. Although the last round or reviewal and it was rejected because of a few polish issues and some continuity issues. These will be fixed although it will takes some more time.

Here are the Bugs I have fixed or need to be fixed:
Lot Flattening
Road and Lot Alignment
Tree Sorting
Terrain Fixing
Road smoothing and Grading

Beta 1 Will be submitted Creator Feedback and work will be done, by other members reviewal which people will be credited

Creating a World

19/11/2010

Step 1: Go to http://www.thesims3.com/game/tools/world
Step 1.5: Download Create-a-World
Step 2: I highly reccomend looking at the tutorials and Walkthrough
Step 3: Start Create a World by clicking on the icon
Picture
Step 4: Go to File>New World> Then Select a pre-template such as large_flat and make sure the height is the same

Step 5: You get into a world and ten you can modify t it by adding new layers I recommended doing one for each spawner or plants or rocks.
Step 6; Then you can add Meta Data such as Trees and Effects or go to Terrain to modify terrain I recommended you get that done first.

It may seem easily but I really recommended planning with Notes and your neighborhood has to have a story.

Hi Guys, Gates Cove has been in back and forth on MTS and has been rejected. I have a bit of work to do. The main issue is  one requirements is that I have to have images of all the lots in Gates Cove. So I have some time next week and I will work Gates Cove and will hope to fix these things.

So in V2.2 I will improve these things:

-Texturing, More Realistic Textures which is weird but requested by Mod the Sims.
-Relationships between InGame Sims
-Redesign of Business District.
-Modernism, Add Statues, Lights, Spires and a complete redesign of the Art Gallery and adding a new cliff view platform perfect for those artistic sims or a perfect venue for the ultimate wedding.
-Customising NPC and removing the unnecessary ones like repo-man for the ultimate tax evasion :-p
-Improve Road Alignment
-Adding Mark Zuckerberg Founder of Facebook  and add Elon Musk Founder of Tesla
-Removing the Calacanis household.
-More Glass Cliff Households like the Wolff House
-Add Co-CEO of Google
-Adding More beach houses and smaller houses and removing other.
-More Road Alignment
-Add Descriptions for Each Sim.
-Customise Story Progression Mod and Master Controller per Household.
-Fixing the Bug where underwater textures were shown incorrectly.
-Testing Gates Cove without certain stuff packs and expansions packs thanks to the any game starter by Johna on MTS.
-Add Lifetime Rewards to certain sims

Generally Improve Native Household by
- Redoing Elder Making him a playable ghost of Ewya
-Improve Woohooer Mod for household
-Improve Garden Layout and Fishing Spawners.

Then Some stuff I am interested in adding but may not be in V2.2
-Adding Morphs to clothing for Teen and Adult Females
-Making Custom Clothes for Kids and Toddlers
-Make Household more of a clan, with specific customisations based on the tribe, green east, red for the west and blue from the shores the mountains.
-Adding Ark Reactor to Tony Stark Clothing

Also I am planing localisation for German, French and possible Chinese and Japanese.  Although I need support with that.

The Next version unless their are any urgent updates or bugs will be V2.5 which will include Late Night Integration  and any improvements which will enhance the neighbourhood.
V2.4 will be integrated with Fast Lane Stuff Pack, to add nice expensive cars to the whole town.

V2.6, the one after Late Night integrated hopefully will be bug fixing or any other improvements.

To explain my numbering system is that the first attempt to get on MTS was V1.0 and its rejection was really understandable and looking back on it now it has caused me to do so much more improvements and is a much better experience for the end user. V2.0 (V stands for Version if you haven't realised yet) which was the second attempt at MTS and was realised a few weeks ago and has been in back in forth and I had a issue responding because I have been away on holidays (BTW I am writing on a plane home) which I understand and some issue because my issues with testing. V3.0 will be the next Expansion Pack or next major revision.
Overall this is a really big update in amount of fixes but are only minor tweaks which will improve the end user experience.
Of course with Gates Cove I am open to any feedback, if you want a feature or have bay questions comments below or contact me at the Contact page.

Hi Guys, It has been a long time since the last update because it has been under Mod the Sims review and it has been positive but I have to change a few pictures. So it's not up yet but in that time I have been fixing Gates Cove. I have been playing a demo Bill Gates legacy and I ahve found some flaws.

World Layer
-I have fixed an empty space area on the left side of the island.
-Their were a few spawners located in incorrect locations
- Floating Tree Syndrome has been fixed
- unflat Graveyard

Sims Interaction
-I have removed the BodyGaurds, Firefighters and Robots becuase they don't function well.
-Removed Muntz Household
-Adding Some Tech Females because limited population
-Merged Many Startup Households.
